A preschool director called us last fall about a bounce house for a fall family day. Her first question wasn't about price. It was "can you give me something my two year olds can actually get into, and can you email my licensing binder an insurance certificate by Friday?"
That's the daycare version of this conversation, and it's different from the backyard birthday version. You've got smaller kids, a building with rules, a director answering to parents, and usually a Tuesday instead of a Saturday. Here's how to plan it.
Start with the youngest room, not the oldest
Backyard parties get planned around the birthday kid. Center events get planned around whoever is smallest, because if the two year olds can't use it, half your rooms are standing around watching.
The Atrium is our compact piece, a 10 by 10 foot tropical splash setup, and it's rated for ages 4 and up. Great for a pre-K room, not the right call for toddlers. For the youngest classes we usually point centers toward The Marigold instead. It's a 13 by 13 foot castle combo that holds up to 8 kids, with a gentle wavy slide and a built-in tunnel that keeps little ones contained instead of scattering.
The Marigold is also our most indoor-friendly unit, which comes up constantly with centers. If your event is in a fellowship hall or a gym because September in Georgia decided to be 91 degrees that day, that's the piece that goes inside.

The paperwork part, which centers can't skip
This is where a lot of cheap rentals fall apart. Licensed childcare centers, church preschools, and school-based pre-K programs almost always need a certificate of insurance on file before anything inflatable goes up on their property.

Every piece gets professionally inspected once a year and checked again before each rental, and each unit is deep-cleaned and sanitized before it reaches you. For a licensed center, those aren't nice extras. They're the things your director gets asked about.
Two things make this easier on everybody:
- Send your requirements early. Some centers need specific wording or need to be named on the certificate. Tell us at booking, not the day before.
- Check whether your landlord or church has its own rules. If your center rents space, the property owner may have separate requirements on top of your licensing ones.

Where it goes: playground, blacktop, or inside
Center outdoor space in metro Atlanta tends to be either a fenced play yard with mulch and red clay, or a flat blacktop pad. Both work.
We set up on grass, artificial turf, concrete, asphalt, and most indoor venues. The anchoring gear is different for each one, so the surface question at booking is a real question, not small talk. Showing up expecting grass and finding a concrete slab means the right stakes are back at the studio.
For space, count on the unit's footprint plus three to four feet of clearance on every side, and look up before you commit to a spot. Shade trees and covered walkways over a play yard are the most common reason a space that looks plenty big doesn't work. You'll also want a path or gate around three feet wide so the unit rolls in on a dolly. Our space requirements guide has the numbers for each piece if you want to measure before you call.
One more: you need a standard outdoor outlet within about 100 feet of where the unit sits, because the blower runs the whole time. Most centers have one. Some older buildings in Decatur or Conyers don't have anything on the play yard side, so check before your event day rather than during it.
Weekdays are your advantage
Here's the thing centers usually don't realize. Saturday inflatable rentals across metro Atlanta get booked 4 to 6 weeks out in spring and fall. Weekday and Sunday dates can often be arranged with one to two weeks' notice.
Your event is probably on a Wednesday. That means you're shopping in the easy part of the calendar, and you can usually get the unit you actually wanted instead of whatever's left.
Rentals are priced by the day, not by the hour, so a morning of rotations costs the same as an all-day family event. Delivery, setup, anchoring, a safety walkthrough with your staff, and teardown are included anywhere inside our 35-mile zone around Conyers. Running it on the day
A few things that make center events go smoothly:
- Rotate by room, not free-for-all. Ten or fifteen minutes per class keeps the line short and lets teachers stay with their own kids.
- Assign one adult to the unit for the whole event. Not a rotating volunteer, and not whoever happens to be closest. That person watches capacity and the entrance, nothing else.
- Post the rider limit where staff can see it. The Marigold holds up to 8 kids at a time. We go over the number for your piece during the walkthrough.
- Shoes off, pockets empty, no food inside. Obvious to you, worth a reminder to a room of four year olds.
And build a water break into every rotation. Even in late September, an Atlanta playground in the afternoon sun runs hotter than the forecast suggests, and preschoolers will bounce straight through thirst without mentioning it.

The rate is the same either way. Rentals start at 150 dollars a day and The Marigold is 180, with no weekend surcharge and no holiday pricing. The real weekday advantage is availability: Tuesday through Friday dates can often be arranged with one to two weeks' notice.
How long do we get the bounce house for?
Rentals are priced by the day, not by the hour. A center that runs two 45-minute rotations in the morning pays the same as one that keeps it up until pickup time.
What happens if it rains on our event day?
You can reschedule or move to studio credit up to 24 hours before delivery, with no fees. We also don't run inflatables when sustained winds go over 20 mph, which matters more on an open playground than in a fenced backyard.
