Every September we get the same phone call. A mom in Snellville has a party on Saturday, it's already Wednesday, and she wants to know if we still have anything left. Sometimes we do. Plenty of Octobers, we don't.
So here's the honest answer to how early you should book, based on what our calendar actually looks like across a year in metro Atlanta.
The short answer
For a Saturday, aim for four to six weeks out. That's what we tell everyone who asks, and it matters most from March through October.
For a weekday or a Sunday, one or two weeks is usually plenty. Those dates stay open a lot longer.
If your date is one that half the metro is also planning around, like a school break, Memorial Day weekend, or the Saturday before Halloween, push that four to six weeks closer to eight.
That's the whole answer. The rest of this is why, plus what to do if you're reading this on a Wednesday with a party on Saturday.
Why Saturday is the bottleneck
We're a small family operation with a handful of units. The Sundae, The Atrium, The Marigold, and RampageZone. One unit goes to one party per day, and that's it. There's no back room with twenty more sitting in boxes.
So a Saturday in April isn't "filling up." It's a few slots, and once they're claimed they're gone. The families who called in March got them.
Sunday works differently. Church lets out, everybody's worn out, and far fewer parties happen. Tuesday is the same story. Those days sit open right up until the week of, which is a real advantage if you're flexible.
How the Atlanta calendar actually runs
Metro Atlanta has a rhythm, and it's pretty consistent year to year.
March through May. Things wake up fast. On the first warm Saturday in March, everybody remembers their backyard exists. Spring birthdays, church egg hunts, field days, and end-of-year school carnivals all land in this window. Six weeks out is a good target.
June through August. Water slide season, driven entirely by the heat. Once it's ninety degrees with Georgia humidity stacked on top, almost nobody wants a dry unit. June and July Saturdays are the hardest dates we have, and six to eight weeks isn't overkill for those.
September through October. Our busiest single stretch of the year, and most people don't see it coming. Fall festivals, trunk or treats, homecoming tailgates, and every birthday that got pushed out of the August heat all pile into eight weekends. October Saturdays go weeks in advance, sometimes two months. If you're organizing a fall festival for a church or a school, get your date on our calendar the same week your committee picks it.
November through February. Much quieter outside, for obvious reasons, and two weeks of notice is often fine. The exception is indoor bookings. The Marigold is built to work inside a gym or a fellowship hall as long as you've got about fourteen feet of ceiling, and those winter indoor dates tend to get claimed by the same handful of churches every year.
Asking about a date isn't the same as holding one
This one is worth saying plainly, because it trips people up. We take a deposit to hold your date, and the full details get shared during booking.
Until that deposit is in, somebody else can take the slot, and they do. We've had parents go quiet for ten days while they decided between two units and lose both. Nobody's being sneaky about it. It's just first come, first served on a small calendar.
What to have ready when you reach out
You'll get an answer faster if you've got these four things handy:
- Your date and a rough start time
- Your city or zip code (we deliver within 35 miles of Conyers)
- The surface it's going on: grass, concrete, asphalt, or an indoor floor
- Roughly how many kids, and their ages
That last one matters more than people expect. A yard full of four year olds and a yard full of ten year olds want completely different pieces, and if you tell us the ages we can point you at the right one in about a minute.

If your party is this weekend
Call anyway. Genuinely.
Cancellations happen, weekday slots open up, and Sundays are often wide open even in peak season. We can't promise same-week availability from April through October, but we check every single time, and you'll get a straight answer instead of being left hanging.
Three things improve your odds on short notice:
- Be flexible on the unit. If you'll take whatever's free, your chances go way up.
- Look at Friday evening or Sunday afternoon instead of Saturday.
- Ask about a weekday. Summer weekdays are genuinely easy to get.
The other reason to book early
Getting the date is the obvious part. There's a second one.
Book early and you get first pick of the unit instead of whatever's left over. You've got time to measure the yard, check your gate width, and sort out where the blower plugs in before any money changes hands. And if the forecast turns ugly, you have room to move, since you can reschedule or take a studio credit up to 24 hours before delivery with no fee.
